The cottages were built by the Pomin family in 1938 in "Old Tahoe"
style with knotty pine paneling throughout. All rooms except the loft suite
are single level and offer private entrances and newly remodeled private baths
with ceramic tile showers. Some rooms have a view of the lake through the pines.
Reserve a cozy studio with queen or twin beds in our rustic log cabin.
Each room has its own unique theme with an inviting stone fireplace, television
& VCR. The cottage suites offer a bedroom with a queen bed and sitting area.
Our newly remodeled suites are available with fireplaces, televisions
'and video tape players, and each with its own special decor - whether

Firelite's construction was financed by Frank Sinatra and his show-business
partners. At the time of it's opening, it was one of the most modern hotels on the north
shore of Lake Tahoe. Open for business just before the 1960 winter Olympics, it
housed participants of the games. The name "Firelite Lodge" symbolized the Olympic
torch. After the Winter Olympics, the motel became popular with many Lake Tahoe
visitors. It was also used for accommodations for entertainers performing at Frank
Sinatra's famous Cal-Neva casino. In 1963 Chicago Mafia boss Sam Giancana's
secret visit to the Cal-Neva casino was uncovered by the FBI. Because of Sinatra's
alleged connection with the underground world, he was forced to give up his casino
gaming license and soon after sold his Lake Tahoe holdings -- including Firelite Lodge.
Recently, the motel has been renovated and represents the best in economy lodging.

The original Tahoe Tavern was an internationally famous and
